An enlightening and spiritually uplifting experience for every pilgrim.

Yaum e Arafah, the Day of Arafah, holds immense spiritual value for every Muslim performing Hajj. It falls on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah, a sacred day when millions of pilgrims gather at Arafat, standing in prayer and supplication from noon until sunset. This gathering on the Hajj Arafat Day represents the unity of believers and symbolizes the Day of Judgment — reminding every pilgrim of humility and submission before Allah.

For those not performing Hajj, fasting on the Day of Arafah brings forgiveness for the sins of the previous and coming year — a reward mentioned by the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). The Yaum e Arafah is also a time to reflect deeply on faith, mercy, and repentance. Fasting and sincere du’a on this blessed day cleanse the heart and draw a believer closer to Allah.

“Hajj is (standing at) Arafat.” – Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

What to Do on the Day of Arafah (Yaum e Arafah)

  • Stand in Arafat:

Your presence in the plain of Arafat, even for a moment, completes your Hajj. There is no substitute for this act on the Hajj Arafat Day. Pilgrims spend this time in deep reflection and supplication, seeking forgiveness and divine mercy.

  • Make Du’a and Dhikr:

The Yaum e Arafah is known as the day of forgiveness and mercy. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “There is no day on which Allah frees more people from Hellfire than the Day of Arafah.” Spend your time in sincere du’a, Istighfar, and remembrance of Allah. Use this opportunity to make heartfelt supplications for yourself and the Ummah.

  • Combine Prayers:

At Masjid-e-Namrah, the Khutbah is delivered, followed by Dhuhr and Asr prayers combined and shortened. If you are in your tent, pray them at their designated times with devotion. Remember that the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah emphasizes spiritual focus and unity in worship.

  • Leave After Sunset:

Depart to Muzdalifah after sunset without praying Maghrib. Leaving Arafat before sunset requires offering a Dum (sacrifice). Stay patient, follow the Sunnah, and maintain the peace and sanctity of this great ritual of Yaum e Arafah.

"On this blessed Day of Arafah, remember the Day of Judgment — stand with humility, seek Allah’s mercy, and renew your heart with faith. The virtues of the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah remind every believer that true success lies in sincere repentance, devotion, and gratitude to Allah."
